Rosé, particularly sparkling Rosé, is the wine of summer and the wine of the moment. We sip it down to quench our summery thirst and to enhance that summer feeling, come summer rain or shine here in Britain. Sparkling Rosé’s fruitiness and light strawberry & melon flavours, tinged with subtle sweet herb notes & effervescent uprisings are a match not just for summer’s heat but for food’s heat as well.
Combining sweetness, acidity, bubbles and aromatics, it resets your palate – it has the same affect but not nearly as perfect as to why ‘a beer goes with a curry’: something we’ve discovered to be very British. So we’re bringing a new pairing to head into more British summers to come ~ Sparkling Rosé & Sri Lankan dishes.
A lot of our warmer dishes have wonderful aromatics and this pairing is just the summer match for these TCT classics: Curries: such as our fragrant Fish Coconut Curry or Black Pork Curry (slow cooked Blackened Pork in a multitude of roasted spices, our granny Gerti’s recipe when we were kids). Hoppers: Our Hoppers are a perfect match: bowl shaped coconut pancakes served with Seni Sambol & Sri Lankan punchy salsa or any Kotthu, our classic Sri Lankan street food dish served all over Sri Lanka made with egg, vegetables or meat, Sri Lankan spices… bring on the Sparkling Rosé.✌🏽🏝
