The Gini Raksha is waking up at TCT and he’s bringing the ultimate Sri Lankan heat wave. This isn’t your average spice challenge. We’re turning up the thermostat with a street-food spice challenge that will test even the toughest palates. See if you can survive the fire. Launching on Thursday 24th September, the challenge is running until the 31st October 2026.
Take on The TCT Spice Challenge and make your way up the 7 spice levels.

Complete the challenge to win your very own TCT cup. Bring your cup back on future visits to claim a FREE pint of draught beer, cider or soft drink with purchase on every visit until the end of 2026.*

THE RULES
🔥 18+ ONLY
You must be 18 years or over to take part in the TCT Spice Challenge. ID may be requested.
🔥 Sauce stays ON
No wiping, scraping or removing sauce from your wings or cauli. The fire is part of the challenge!
🔥 Do it yourself
No sharing, swapping food or getting a helping hand from your mates.
🔥 Clear head, fiery mouth
You must not take part if you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or anything else.
🔥 Sign before you spice
Every challenger must read and sign the TCT Spice Challenge Disclaimer before taking part.
🔥 Wait for it…
No starting until the authorised TCT judge gives the official signal.
🔥 No napkin rescue
Once the challenge starts, you cannot wipe your mouth with napkins, cloths, clothing or anything until the challenge is complete.
🔥 No drinks. No shortcuts
No drinks during the challenge or for 2 minutes after finishing.
If you choose or need to have a drink before the 2 minutes are up, that’s absolutely fine — but your challenge ends there. Safety always comes first.
🔥 Finish the lot.
All required challenge portions must be eaten to successfully complete the challenge.
🔥 The judge is watching. 👀
The challenge must be witnessed and timed by an authorised TCT judge. The judge will confirm whether the challenge has been successfully completed.
🔥 You can stop whenever you want.
If the heat gets too much, just tell us. There is absolutely no pressure to continue. If a member of the TCT team has any concerns about your wellbeing, they can stop the challenge.
🔥 Want your moment of glory? 📸
We may take photos or videos during the challenge. We will ask separately for your permission before using identifiable photos or videos of you on TCT social media or marketing.

Terms & Conditions
- The TCT Spice Challenge costs £10pp and is available to guests aged 18+ only.
- The Spice challenge its running from September 24th until October 31st 2026.
- The challenge is available by pre-booking only. Guests must book in advance using the booking code SPICE.
- A maximum of 4 people may take part in the Spice Challenge at one time.
- Guests who successfully complete the challenge in accordance with the official TCT Spice Challenge Rules will receive a TCT Spice Challenge Festival Cup, subject to availability.
- The Festival Cup can be brought back to a participating The Coconut Tree restaurant to claim one free pint of selected draught beer, draught cider or a standard soft drink with a purchase.
- The offer to claim your prize is valid until close of business on 31 December 2026.
- The physical TCT Spice Challenge Festival Cup must be presented at the time of redemption. Photos of the cup will not be accepted.
- The offer is limited to one free drink per Festival Cup, per qualifying visit. One free drink per day. Management may refuse repeated or attempted multiple redemptions intended to circumvent this limit.
- A qualifying purchase must be made during the same visit in which the free drink is redeemed.
- The free drink is subject to availability and applies only to participating draught beers, draught ciders and standard soft drinks as determined by the restaurant. There is no cash alternative and the free drink cannot be exchanged for another product.
- Alcoholic redemptions are strictly 18+. Valid photographic ID may be required.
- Festival Cups that are lost, stolen or damaged will not normally be replaced.
- TCT reserves the right to refuse redemption where there is reasonable evidence of misuse, fraud, attempted multiple redemption or breach of these terms.
- Management reserves the right to amend or cancel the offer at any point.
